Market Spotlight & Sales Spotlight Permissions
The ability to assign ownership in Market Spotlight and Sales Spotlight is based on role permissions for an individual assigned role. There are two set permissions that are responsible for actions that users are able to perform when it comes to assignments:
- Assign to Self
- Assign to Others
Assign to Self
By default, the ability to assign to self is turned on for all roles when Market Spotlight is enabled for an account. This permission allows users to assign physicians, facilities, and agencies to themselves. Once assigned, these records are created as an account or contact, depending on the entity type, and added to a users list of assigned referral sources.
Users will be able to easily see their assigned records within Market Spotlight to reduce duplicate assignments by using the Assigned User column at the far right of the table.
When this permission is disabled and Assign to Others is not enabled, users will be able to request ownership of physicians, facilities, and agencies. Once the request is made, it is added to the Approve Owner Change report to await approval from the users manager.
Assign to Others
By default, the ability to assign to others is turned on for all manager roles when Market Spotlight is enabled for an account. This permission allows users to assign physicians, facilities, and agencies to themselves as well as others. Once assigned, these records are created as an account or contact, depending on the entity type, and added to the selected users list of assigned referral sources.
Managers and admins will be able to easily see assigned records within Market Spotlight by using the Assigned User column at the far right of the table. The table also allows for users to assign multiple users to multiple records easily.
How to Request Ownership from Market Spotlight Tables
Users without any assignment permissions enabled for their role will be able to request ownership using the steps below.
1. Click the empty box to the left of the physician, facility, or agency name. A check will be added to this box to indicate that a selection has been made.
2. Once selected, the Manage Ownership box will appear to the left of the State selector box.
3. Click on Manage Ownership.
4. A pop-up box will appear with the name of the selected entity.
5. Click on Request Ownership below the entity name. Your name will be added to the Selected Users box.
6. Click the Save button.
7. Your request will be sent to your manager via the Approve Owner Change Report to await approval. Once approved, you will see your name displayed in the Assigned User column on the table.
How to Assign Ownership using Market Spotlight Tables
1. Click the empty box to the left of the physician, facility, or agency name. A check will be added to this box to indicate that a selection has been made.

3. Click on Manage Ownership.
4. A pop-up box will appear with the name of the selected entity.

Note: For those with Assign to Others enabled, a list of users will also appear allowing managers and admins the ability to assign multiple users at one time to multiple records.
How to Assign Ownership using Sales Spotlight
1. Click the name of the physician, facility, or agency name to open Sales Spotlight.
2. Once Sales Spotlight is open, the Manage Ownership box will be viable to the to the left of the Business Line selector.
3. Click on Manage Ownership.
4. A pop-up box will appear with the name of the selected entity.
5. Click on Assign Ownership below the entity name. Your name will be added to the Selected Users box.
6. Click the Save button.
7. The pop-up will disappear and your name will be listed in the Assigned User column.
For those with Assign to Others enabled, a list of users will also appear allowing managers and admins the ability to assign multiple users at one time to multiple records.
