Market Data Reporting Periods

The data found in Market Insights & TargetWatch is based on claims data over certain periods of time. The information below describes the reporting periods for both Home Health/Hospice.

Annual Admit Values

All annual values in Market Insights do not include the latest quarter (Q3 2021) of data. CMS provides all Q3 claims adjudicated at the time the data is released. However, it is an "incomplete quarter" as there will be additional claims adjudicated and released with the Q4 2021 data update.  

• The Q3 2021 data is available within the Market Insights Trend view
• Annual Admits - Data includes Medicare Claims from July 1st, 2021 to June 30th, 2021.

In Targetwatch, a dropdown menu allows users to choose a year to display that year's claims data. The list below defines the claims periods that are shown when a year is selected:

• Last 4 Quarters - Data includes Medicare Claims from July 1st, 2021 to June 30th, 2021.
• Previous 4 Quarters - Data includes Medicare Claims from July 1st, 2020 to June 30th, 2020.
• 2019 - Data includes Medicare Claims from January 1, 2019 - December 31, 2019
• 2018 - Data includes Medicare Claims from January 1, 2018 - December 31, 2018
