Overview
Roles define the access level for groups of users. The ability to update and change permissions varies by each user's assigned role. This article walks through available options within each role, which can be found on the Settings page by clicking on Role Management in the section "Territory Management."
Settings Summary for a Selected Role
When you click on "Edit" to the left of any existing role, the following interface opens. Use the image below as a reference for the details for each setting that follows.
Role Settings
In the left panel, information about the selected role is displayed.
Role Name
This is an editable text field. Use a name that is helpful to align a specific user to the access selected for the role.
Role Details
- Sync ID - applicable if a role has a Sync ID
- Receive Referral Ownership Credit - determines whether the particular role receives credit (points) for a referral - this is helpful for roles like Managers or Clinical Liaisons who may share ownership of referrals with other Marketers.
- Reports to Role - sets the hierarchy or "rollup" of management roles
- Business Line - dedicates a role to a specific business line
- Include in Reports - determines whether a roll appears in Marketscape CRM Reports by default
Role Function
Sales or Manager - determines the role types that have visibility to other Marketer's activities
Permissions Definitions
All roles come with a list of options that can be turned on or off by checking the box beside it.
Where applicable, the permission will extend to mobile as well as the web.
Accounts
Visibility - All Users - All users will be able to see all accounts
- Create - the ability to manually create accounts or add from the Referral Source Database
- Edit - the ability to make changes an account owned by a user
- Delete - the ability to erase an account from Marketscape CRM
- Edit Unassigned -the ability to edit accounts that are owned by the Unassigned User
- Edit Unowned -the ability to edit accounts that have no owner at all
- Can Export - the ability to extract a list of accounts via CSV file
- Show All Shared Owner Events - the ability to display all past and future events for additional users for an account
- Display Call/Visit Notes for all Users - the ability to see completed call/visit notes for other users on an account
**Account Executive Roles have an inherent role permission that does not allow them to edit or add Account that are owned by another User
Contacts
Visibility - All Users - All users will be able to see all contacts
- Create - the ability to manually add contact or add from the Referral Source Database
- Edit - the ability to make changes a contact owned by a user
- Delete - the ability to erase a contact from Marketscape CRM
- Edit Unassigned - the ability to edit contacts that are owned by the Unassigned User
- Edit Unowned - the ability to edit contacts that have no owner at all
- Can Export - the ability to extract a list of contacts via CSV file

Expenses
Visibility - Flexible - User visibility will depend upon the option selected and where that user falls within the branch hierarchy.
- Create - the ability to add an expense
- Edit - the ability to make changes an expense owned by a user
- Delete - the ability to remove an expense from Marketscape CRM
- Edit Unassigned - the ability to edit expenses that are owned by a designated Unassigned User
- Edit Unowned - the ability to edit expenses that have no owner at all
- Approve Expenses - the ability to approve expense requests*
- Can Export - the ability to extract a list of expenses via CSV file**
*The Account Executive does not allow for this permission to be enabled
**Exports do not contain any attached receipts
Leads
Visibility - Flexible - User visibility will depend upon the option selected and where that user falls within the branch hierarchy.
- Create - the ability to add a lead
- Edit - the ability to make changes to a lead
- Delete - the ability to remove a lead from Marketscape CRM
- Edit Unassigned - the ability to edit leads that are owned by a designated Unassigned User
- Edit Unowned - the ability to edit leads that have no owner at all
Referrals
Visibility - Flexible - User visibility will depend upon the option selected and where that user falls within the branch hierarchy.
- Create - the ability to manually add referrals
- Edit - the ability to make changes a referral owned by a user
- Delete - the ability to erase a referral from Marketscape CRM
- Edit Unassigned - the ability to edit referrals that are owned by a designated Unassigned User
- Edit Unowned - the ability to edit referrals that have no owner at all
- Can Export - the ability to extract a list of referrals via CSV file
Tenures
Visibility - Flexible - User visibility will depend upon the option selected and where that user falls within the branch hierarchy.
- Create - the ability to create new tenure goals for reporting
- Edit - the ability to make changes to an existing tenure goal
- Delete -the ability to erase a tenure goal from Marketscape CRM
- Edit Unassigned - the ability to edit tenure goals that are owned by a designated Unassigned User
- Edit Unowned - the ability to edit tenure goals that have no owner at all
Territory Goal
Visibility - Flexible - User visibility will depend upon the option selected and where that user falls within the branch hierarchy.
- Create - the ability to add a goal to a branch or territory by the user
- Edit - the ability to update or change a goal created by the user
- Delete - the ability to remove a goal created by the user
- Edit Unassigned - the ability to edit referrals that are owned by a designated Unassigned User
- Edit Unowned - the ability to edit referrals that have no owner at all
Admit Goal
- Create Admit Goals - the ability to add an admit goal on the Stats tab
Other
- Manage Users - the ability to see other user's calendars within a defined territory*
- Helpdesk Administrator - the ability to reset user passwords, add or disable users while still restricted from other configuration settings within Marketscape CRM
*The Account Executive role does not allow for this permission
Market Spotlight
- Enable - the ability to turn on access to Market Insights so the tab is visible
- Assign to Self - the ability to assign records to yourself within Market Insights
- Assign to Others - the ability to assign records to other users within Market Insights
